Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge
Last week a few friends and I headed West to Shelby, North Carolina, for some down home BBQ. We heard about the restaurant from a fellow teacher and then saw it mentioned in Southern Living’s BBQ Top Ten and knew it had to be on the summer 2012 to-do list. And let me tell you, I’d put it on another to-do list in a heartbeat.

My summer diet has begun.
Ice cream consumption has increased, produce is plentiful, hot dogs are hoppin’, I’ve got my eyes peeled for corn on the cob, I’m jonesing to grill, I’m chomping on chips and dip, and I need a soda or a cherry slushie in my hand at all times. Not really sure how people even attempt to lose weight during this season…what a waste.

They have few fast food options that are legitimately fast and when I’m hustling and bustling from one flight to the next I need to have time to get food, not necessarily consume the...
Coca-Cola: quenching thirst since 1886
In case you are ever in need of a Coca-Cola at the end of a long day, there are several places I’ve found that will not fail you. Fail me, you ask? How could a Coke possibly fail me? Well, some establishments have Coke that is simply superior to others. Coke that is refreshing, crisp, cool (regardless of the amount of ice), and honestly thirst quenching. Ready for the list? I...

Top Reason to Clean Your Car
1. So when it’s finally warm enough to roll down your windows on the highway your students’ papers don’t go flying out the window.
Thank you for listening Chick-Fil-A
Either Chick-Fil-A is really in tune with what their customers want or they are reading my blog (I’m almost 100% sure it is option B, but I put option A in just for kicks).
In my most recent Chick-Fil-A run I had the privilege of dunking my hefty waffle fries in a pot of delicious Heinz ketchup. No more do I have to open packet after packet of ketchup only to scrape the heck out of my...

Wisconsin, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
At this point in the season, I’ve polished off several bottles of sparkling grape juice. With two Christmases still to go, I think there are a few more bottles and many more cookies yet to come.
