French Broad Chocolate Lounge (Asheville, NC)
Today I ventured to Asheville, North Carolina, for some adventuring and hiking. A friend had heard about this chocolate shop where they make the chocolate in front of you and you can drink it or something like that. We didn’t know what the place was called or where it was, but we miraculously stumbled upon it during our wanderings. And it was a good find.
The shop sells a variety of organic chocolates, including a liquid truffle which is one of those magical things that’s hard to describe. It was a cross between hot chocolate and a rich, melted chocolate bar. Maybe it’s just a big melted truffle in a cute mug…I don’t know. But I do know it’s good, real good. I would suggest the maple liquid truffle that blends a bit of maple syrup with a bit of salt, you can’t beat the salty/sweet combo. And it doesn’t hurt that the maple syrup comes from the great state of WISCONSIN.
